Behind the Sign – Weekly Top Shot #28

Behind the Pike Place Market Sign

Sometimes the backside of common scenes gives an interesting view.
At the Pike Place Market there are so many nooks and crannies to explore you can spend hours poking around. Built a hundred years ago, the buildings have been expanded, repaired, remodeled and renovated so much that the floor level changes often as you are walking along. The market is several stories high as it is ‘draped’ down the hillside between First and Western Avenues. Here I’ve gone out a doorway behind the Pike Place Fish Market (famous for the fish mongers throwing Salmon) which leads to a small patio and the entrance to the Place Pigalle Restaurant. From there you can view Elliott Bay and if you turn around and look up you’ll see the back of the famous neon ‘Public Market Center’ sign with it’s clock. One of these days my husband are going to go to the Place Pigalle Restaurant.  I want to try their ‘Sweet Pea And Tarragon Ravioli,’ made with Gorgonzola Cream, Sweet Onion, Toasted Garlic, Spinach, and Chili Flakes… yum!

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

That is a great shot, not only for the fact that it is the backside, but the colors are amazing! So vibrant!

I would want to try those ravioli’s, too! That is an unusual combination and it sounds so delish. You will have to let us know how they taste!

  2. This was a place in Seattle that we absolutely loved when we visited, Madge! And as you say sometimes looking at things in a different way from a fresh perspective, makes us more aware of them. Lovely shot.
Thanks for hosting this wonderful meme!
