Day comes to a close over the Seattle skyline. Even though I’ve seen this view many times either through my own lens or as a backdrop on the local news, I never tire of its beauty. My only problem capturing this scene is standing on the 12th Avenue South bridge over Interstate 90 watching the traffic whiz by underneath my feet and feeling the bridge bounce when a metro bus passes by. I am terrified of heights, so you must understand the pull of wanting ‘that’ shot to bravely venture out there, set up my tripod and shoot! How do you ‘stretch’ yourself for ‘that’ shot?
Well, what do you know… I finally figured out why my images have been appearing blurry after upload… too complicated to try to explain, but I’ve been tearing my hair out for weeks trying to figure it out! Needless to say I just uploaded this skyline shot and it is crisp! Yeah, arms waving and doing a happy dance!

yikes! thanks for braving heights (and traffic!) for us!
What a great shot! The lights and sunset look beautiful. So glad you were there to capture this scene. Happy Weekend!
That shot is well worth the fear-factor I think : )
Beautiful shot-you must have quite the camera-cause I have already seen you are quite the photographer to go along with it!!~~Rain
Lovely shot Madge!
A great photo! The Seattle Chamber of Commerce may be after to you to use that shot! And just have to ask (re the blurry photos)…did you have your lens stabilizer or vibration control turned on while using your tripod? I was famous for forgetting to turn it off. Finally got into good habits but it took a while.
That feature actually turns off automatically when I turn on the remote shutter trigger… good thought though (I’ve been known to forget that kind of stuff .. regularly ha.ha.ha). But no, it was a plugin on WordPress that I was using to upload photos with, and it was creating a smaller image and then when I would ‘re-size’ if you will in my post content the image was actually being up-sized, rather than down-sized from the larger image I really uploaded… does that make sense?? Thanks for the suggestion… hugs!
Beautiful Madge — and just for the record, I didn’t notice anything unusual about your other photos, but I’m glad you figured it out. :)
Thanks, Nancy… I guess you have to see the old image and new image side-by-side to see the difference, but believe me is is very noticeable!
This is a Madge original!
Great shot Madge. I love how the traffic leads you into and through your shot. Very Nice.
This really makes me want to come a visit. This is just beautiful.

Gorgeous Shot, Brave, Brave Girl.
Excellent photography.
Regards and best wishes
You get some fantastic shots of the Seattle skyline. I haven’t noticed that your photos aren’t sharp, but this one is very sharp.
Beautifully captured!
When I first saw this image, I asked myself, “Where in the world would she have to be to take this?” Now I know, although I am not familiar with the location or the bridge. And with a tripod?? Wow…you have nerve! It must come from transporting school kids on a bus. ;-) It’s a truly beautiful shot—one that Seattle could easily use on brochures.
That is a beautiful scene and well captured shot. Thanks for the email reminder to join the meme.
Fantastic shot Madge!
Madge this shot was a total feast for my eyes. Brilliant. I am so enjoying looking through your work. Thank you.

I linked up some pictures I took of an old Chevy Pickup.
Your Seattle Skyline shot is great!
Beautiful, crisp shot. Curious to know your secret of how you captured it. I struggle with blurry shots also.
