from the fireworks display at Seattle’s iconic and famous Space Needle,
the base of the Needle has brightly colored ball shaped flashes along its 600 foot length.
Shot across Elliott Bay
from West Seattle’s Alki Beach,
it takes a long lens to pull in a good image of the
‘exploding’ Needle.

This year’s display promises to be flashy,
brilliant and will punctuate music designed to give a bit of shock and awe
to those braving the cold at Seattle Center
and those snug in their homes
watching on TV.

That’s a wonderful photo! I have this memory of walking down a street after having a delicious breakfast in a small restaurant, and reaching the Space Needle, craning my neck to see the top and being amazed at its height. That was a great trip!
