Here,
in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle
a crew member works at the task of painting the railing on a fishing vessel.

Corrosion is ever eating away at paint and metal on vessels
whether in fresh or salt water,
although salt water has the added corrosive factor
of the salt itself.
: : :
Vessel owners must be in a constant battle
with the elements to maintain the integrity of their craft
or they will slowly degrade
until they are no longer seaworthy
and eventually become
derelict.

This fellow is wearing a tyvek suit
for protection while painting,
I need to get one of those.
When I paint either interior or exterior of our house,
I inevitably get paint on myself, a lot of paint,
and keep an old pair of coveralls for just that task,
but perhaps a tyvek suit
would be better.

Some of the fishing vessels [and shrimp boats] around here need a whole new piece of maintenance work!! Not just painting. In my opinion some need replacing. lol
Nice photo! I like the way the blue stands out.
Such concentration. And I love that blue.
Sure is a bright blue!
Nice shot.
I imagine the boats are all very busy this time of year!!
I don’t envy him that job! And yes, you can always toss Tyvek when you’re done. Always a good plan in my opinion. :-)
I’m a messy painter too, Madge. My Mother-In-Law is a neat and tidy painter.
We do a lot of maintenance work on the ranch. Last June I painted our house deck, as well as the trim on a small barn and the chicken coop. When we replace something or upgrade we are going for low maintenance steel as much as possible.
Great composition and I love the strong blues.
I think i could use a painter right now wonder if he travels, thanks for the party link up
Sogar die Mütze passt farblich zum Gesamtanblick, ein cooles foto !
amazing detail and vivid colors!
Tyvek suit? Really cool. I should have one too. I inevitably get messy when painting…
Always love your shots madge. We are going to be in a Seattle in the coming week and so looking forward to it. Hey, I will be watching out for you with your camera! Rain or shine, here we come!
I love your photos of people going about their work. NIce blue rail.
