Ferry Across the Missouri River - Rural Montana

Ferry fer·ry ferē/ [noun]: a boat or ship for conveying passengers and goods, esp. over a relatively short distance and as a regular service.

Here,

on a trip a few years back,

while making a loop around the state of Montana,

my husband and I took a more than 100 mile drive between

the towns of Havre and Winifred.

Along this long route,

we crossed the Missouri River near the Missouri River Breaks

on this ferry at Stafford Crossing.

It is only one of three ferries still in use to cross the river,

we also crossed the one in Virgelle.

Very nostalgic.
