Watching the Sale – Weekly Top Shot #113

Watching the Sale - Enumclaw Sales Pavilion - Enumclaw WA

Watch: /wäCH/ : verb : to look at or observe attentively, typically over a period of time.

:  :  :

Here,

at a livestock sale,

held weekly on Saturdays at the Enumclaw Sales Pavilion

for more than 70 years;

two men watch the offerings

and proceedings.

:  :  :

Rustic,

and warm or cold

depending upon the seasonal weather,

come dressed comfortably in clothes that may get a bit dusty.

:  :  :

The original sales barn,

made of wood burned to the ground in 1960

and was replaced with a steel skinned structure,

and a wooden interior.

:  :  :

The inside remains

quite similar to the original sales arena,

with old, well-worn wooden theater seats that fold up,

with some benches high up in the rafters,

where you will hit your head

if you’re not watching

what you’re doing!

Like moi,

I almost cold-cocked myself this day,

I was so intent on taking shots

of the sale.
