Lost? Need some directions??
: : :
Here,
along a rural dirt road in Blaine County, MT
a post with numerous weathered signs point the direction
to various farmsteads and ranches from that juncture of Lloyd Road
and Ervin Ridge Road.
: : :
It also states on the bottom sign,
that it is 14 miles to the ‘Ferry.’
The ferry it designates crosses the Missouri River
in the rugged and beautiful
Missouri River
Breaks.
: : :
Driving a hundred miles or more
on this dirt road starting in Havre,
one eventually finds ones way
through the small town of Winifred
on through Hilger and on to Lewiston.
Diving through very rugged,
often remote
and
beautiful
country.

That sign post reminds me of the one on M*A*S*H* where all their home towns were on it!

Beautiful country, indeed!
I love that sign! Whoa, 100-plus miles of dirt road? My hubby would never make it! We have less than half a mile and he cusses it sometimes! LOL!!
That sign is so awesome!
I love this shot, but I don’t know why. There is just something about it that is so appealing. Maybe it is that big sky backdrop that is part of it.
that is sweet!
Love these old sign.
Neat picture, Miss Madge.
A fine sign for its content and for the weathered look it makes. A strong and effective shot.
What I wouldn’t give for one of those signs on some of the rural roads I’ve been on. :)
Cool find Madge!
No doubt, wonderful photo! That poster needs a makeover!
Very homey sign, excellent find♫♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/out-the-window/

What a great find…and beautifully photographed!
I’ve never seen signposts with farmstead names before…neat! I think I’d like to travel that road. : )
Beautiful photo! I love that sign. Totally reminded me of MASH, too :) I just found you this week and am getting in on the rural photo fun. Everyone has such lovely pictures to share! Thank you so much for doing this.
You sure made an old weathered sign look beautiful! In my hood we have horse xing and wine trail signs. Have a great day!
this is possibly the best sign post I’ve ever seen, and I really like how they’ve left the originals with the more modern.
Your sign reminds me of the ones I used to see in Ireland. Gobs of places on one pole. At least these are in English and do not overlap each other. What a wonderful part of the country life in your area. genie
Beautiful old country signs!
This is an amazing sign – I love that it mixed the old with the new.
Sweet capture, Madge. :-)
That is a great sign! And my dad’s name is/was Lloyd, so I’m partial to it anyway. But I just love old signs, and this gives me an idea for next summer. :-) I’ll have to join in Rurality tomorrow. Fun!
