Skeen School – Rurality Blog Hop #23

Full Moon Over Skeen School in the Palouse

Seeing a brilliant full moon is a feast for the eyes.

Here,

at dusk in the early evening,

I’ve caught Skeen School, a one room school house.

It is now leaning precariously to the south and the east.

Located in the heart of the Palouse,

the premier wheat growing region of southeastern Washington State.

I will admit that this is a composite image.

One of the full moon and one of the school house,

regardless I still love it.

The rich blue of the expanse of the sky

and the brilliance

of the moon.

  1. What a lovely capture of the moon and worn-out schoolhouse. It reminds me of a photo of a barn (now gone) that I took not too long ago. I’ll have to resurrect the image and post it one of these days.

That’s a great image. Sometimes you just gotta do a little something extra. Looks like both of them would be great though. Love that old school. I’ve seen more charming, leaning buildings since I started photography. Love all of them.

  3. There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile,
    He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile;
He bought a crooked cat which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

    Mother Goose.
