Reuse or repurpose, here a farmer has who probably had a selection of vintage farming equipment available, chooses an old mower for a mailbox stand.
: : :
Often around farming communities, I see original mailboxes.
This one is somewhat typical, in that it uses or re-uses a vintage piece of farm equipment for the stand.
Vintage mowers seem to abound and many mailboxes in the Palouse are held by these old mowers.

Surgery Update:
I came home from the hospital today.
My surgeon when he visited early yesterday morning,
said my surgery went very well, exactly as planned.
My asthma kicked up hard after the surgery and I had to stay an extra night.
My blood oxygen level dropped to 80 without supplemental O2,
so I had to bring a tank home and a compressor was delivered late this afternoon.
I’ll have to use it 24/7 until my sat level rises to the mid 90s,
and stays there without supplemental O2.
I’m in quite a bit of pain, but have pain meds to knock the edge off it.
I’m thankful that I’m on the upswing here!
Home,
it never felt
SO
good!

Love the mailbox! Rather appropriate image – the main vertical support looks like a spine leading up to the base of the skull. (Sorry, I have a medical background; it just kinda popped out at me.) Sorry to hear about the asthma and supplemental oxygen. Hope you can kick that real quick, and the pain, too. Glad you’re back home. It’s difficult to get any rest in the hospital. Sending positive thoughts and prayers.

That is a great looking mailbox. I’m impressed with how well prepared it is with the paint. It’s also very sturdy.
I was pleased to hear you are home. That pain should subside over the next day or two. I’ve come home from the hospital and I know that feeling: “no place like home.”
So glad to hear you are back home.
Thoughts and prayers are with you for a speedy recovery.
Love the mail box!
I wonder if I paint mine that bright if my neighbor would stop backing into it. It’s already bright white.
I just read Lindy’s comment and had to smile at the analogy.
Welcome home – glad you are home and starting the road to recovery – so glad the surgery went well. Hang in there – it just gets better!
I hope you are feeling better very soon! I love the old mower and mailbox.
Hope you’re soon back to top speed. I send you all good wishes.
The mailbox is inspired. Great!

Sending you healing thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, Madge, although I do know these things take time and patience and you can’t hurry healing.
Love these old mailbox stands. Something you don’t see often around here anymore.
Blessings to you, Madge. xoxo
What a fun mailbox. Love the contrast of the purple mailbox with the yellow daffodils. I’d like to sit on that lawn mower’s seat and wait for the mailman. So glad you’re surgery is over and that the prognosis is good. Rest and recuperate well, Madge.
Very creative.

Great mailbox BUT even greater is to see you posting. From what I’m hearing, I believe you are doing and will be doing better than my friend from the office. Onward and upward!!!
I am glad the surgery went well, Madge. Relax and take your time and follow the doctor’s orders and let nature works its wonders on your recovery.
