Studying at the Seattle Public Library - Seattle WA

Studying – stud.y.ing – (present participle of stud·y) The devotion time and attention to acquiring knowledge on (an academic subject), esp. by means of books.

Last fall, my daughter and I, cameras and tripods in tow,

visited the main branch of the Seattle Public Library in downtown Seattle,

it is an unusual building of modern award winning design.

While on the 8th floor, walking down an aisle between long shelves of books,

I saw this fellow sitting facing the exterior windows, studying intensely.

The light from the windows bathed him in electric blue light.  As if inspiration were pouring upon him from heaven.

I’ve done my fair share of studying in my life, twelve years of public school and two years of college

and a life long learner, I am a lover of knowledge and books.

I’ve always learned best visually, by reading and writing

utilizing highlighting, note taking, and outlining.

love them or hate them.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tablet 7.0 Plus with wifi, with a Kindle app.

Yes, I do read books on it, but I still much prefer a physical book, that I can hold in my hand,

where I am still able to highlight important text, and write notes in the margins.

What about you,

paper or electronic?
