Privacy, most of us want that in our lives, some more than others.
Here in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square,
a rooftop patio runs the width of the building
between Western Avenue and Post Alley.
This opening faces west on Western Avenue.
As I looked up and saw this private patio
where one could be in the city and yet,
not easily observable from the street
while enjoying a bbq or other outdoor gathering,
it was at once attractive.
I love these old red brick buildings
and if life circumstances were different
and I had an opportunity,
I’d jump at the chance to live in town in a place like this.
At least for a while…

Beautiful and I love the ivy growing up the brick.

I’m with you…love that little private nook yet accessible to all that’s in town. I have this idea in my head that one day, maybe after I retire, I’ll sell the house and move into something that has less responsibility tied to it and more fun and freedom. Sigh….
The best of both worlds – privacy in the city. When I win the lottery……
I love the brick and ivy together and the little patio does look cozy with the lights and geraniums! :)
OH, I love this shot!
Fabulous shot, I really like it!
Nice composition!
