School Bus on Vashon Island Ferry is squeezed in to vehicles on board.While returning from an afternoon photography trip to Vashon Island on the ferry, I was amazed at the sheer number of vehicles loaded at the dock. I’ve taken many trips on our ferry system over the years, some were ~ stormy, sunny, cold, warm, windy, late at night, and early in the morning. But this, was a first, I’ve never been asked to board (one of last three vehicles including the school bus) and the space was so tight I had to pulled in my rear view mirrors to squeeze into the space I was directed to. The bus managed to be able to open its doors, but my spot was so tight I could not get out of my car. I have a suspicion this was against the law. If we had an accident, myself and many others would not have been able to access evacuate to life boat stations to get off the ferry. I probably should have reported it thinking about it now.
