Barn on Fugate Road - Whitman County

A wintry scene from the Palouse.

:   :   :

Okay, I don’t want to say a lie, so I’ll say upfront the snow is Madge-made with Photoshop.

I wanted to upload a wintry scene, and we’ve had no snow here in my neighborhood

and I couldn’t find a ‘real’ snowy shot from the Palouse so I ‘made’ some snow to share with you.

This is my favorite red barn in the Palouse on Fugate Road.

Please forgive me if you don’t like contrived photos, personally I rather liked the finished image.

Not as good as real snow, but it satisfies my craving.

What about you, is it snowy there?

:   :   :

Will you have a white Christmas?

no snow here and i much prefer our Sunny Christmas to a snowy one. born and bred in the deep South snow at Christmas is not something we know about. last night i heard a new Christmas song, Santa is barefoot in the sand…. and i love your Madge Made Snow…. it is beautiful and NOT cold and doesn’t have to be shoveled. Merry Christmas

As you probably know, we do have snow and will have a white Christmas as it’s very cold and not much melting going on.

I hope you are feeling better, my friend and want to wish you a Merry Christmas.

Nancy, send some snow out to us. The snow that started before Christmas Eve service turning to rain so we need some white stuff!

  • Ruth Hiebert says:

Great picture. No need to make snow where I am.Yes,it will be a white Christmas and cold one too. Merry Christmas to you.

  • Helene says:

That is one cool trick! I like! I think Nancy needs to send some snow our way. We just got a dusting that turned to rain and she has plenty to go around. I wonder if I can find a similar trick in Lightroom4? I’m moving from Photoshop Elements to LR4 (for organizing reasons and Elements can not longer read by RAW files)…not sure if I’m going to like the change and there seems to be a big learning curve for me but I’m going to search our ‘snow’ in an LR4 book I bought very soon! One of the reasons to love my blog friends…they are great teachers :)
