Sitting - Seattle Public Library

At the top of the Seattle Public Library, a young couple sits. Ultra modern and one of the most photographed buildings in downtown Seattle, both inside and out, it is of the 150 most favorite buildings in the country. The 11-story building was completed in 2004 and is the flagship facility of the city’s public library system. While out and about, watching this couple enjoy each others company (albeit quietly) on the top floor of the library where you can look out of the ‘skin’ of the building, was a delight and seemed to invite me to take their photo.

  1. Madge,

Thank you for your fun attention (3 comments and invitation and joining me)! I lived in Seattle area (Monroe, Lynnwood and Everett) during 78-82. My oldest child was a baby and my husband at the time was employed with Boeing. He is still with Boeing but lives in North Caroline now. We haven’t been together for over 27 years. I have traveled back there at times and know the area well. I have a cousin that lives on Bonny Lake, and many of my ex’s family still live there (mostly Woodinville area). My daughters keep me abreast of them along with facebook. But now I get to see your perspective via your photos. Yes, I am excited about that!!!!

  2. When you take a candid shot like this of people do you let them know you have photographed them? I am curious, as I generally don’t….and if I ask permission to photograph them it never ends up as candid as I would have liked.
