Pumpkins on a Fence - Snoqualmie Valley WA

Bright orange pumpkins sitting on a rail fence, visually speak ‘Autumn!’

An enlarged, cropped view of this image is what I’ve used to create the autumn header for my blog. I thought this was one of the most delightful displays of autumn cheer that I’ve ever seen. Behind the fence is a field of corn at the end of the season, with some of the stalks tied to each fence post and of course the pumpkins fixed to the top of each post as well. If I had a fence anywhere near like this, I’d give it a try. I do some table decorations and the usual pumpkins and squash on the front porch. What about you, do you decorate your place for autumn?

  1. It’s all that & so creative! Who’da thunk it? I’m gonna show this to mom & see if she’d want to do it at the farm… although, she may not be able to due to all the critters out there! LoL! =) Love it

  2. This is a pretty nice fall scene. I put out a couple of carved pumpkins as Halloween approaches, that’s all. The decorations are reserved for Christmas. I guess that labels me as “old-fashioned.” Maybe just “old.”

  3. This is positively charming…I love it! I have a wreath of leaves with orange lights on the door right now. I did have 5 baskets of mums but they are now down to 2. For some reason, the lot did not last long at all…very disappointing! Unfortunately, many of us here on the east coast are putting everything away in prep for Hurricane Sandy which is expected to hit the New Jersey shore on Sunday or Monday. I’m praying we don’t lose power. The last time that happened I was bailing water at 2:30 AM in the dark. The next day I was at my mom’s pumping out her basement. Hope we all have a Happy Halloween!
