Planter Boxes - Houseboat Porch - Lake Union - Seattle WA

Brightly planted pots and boxes adorn the front porch of a houseboat. Whether we live in the city, in the country, in a house, in an apartment or a houseboat we all want to surround ourselves with gardens and plants. Somehow we all seem to have a need for being connected to the ground. Here on a Lake Union houseboat, the homeowner has planted a climbing vine, a planter box and a pot of daisies.

If I had a chance to, I’d jump at the opportunity to live in a houseboat, especially on Lake Union just north of downtown Seattle. Generally they are quite small, under a 1,000 square feet, but I could fit my essentials into that quite nicely… the whole idea really floats my boat (oh yes, pun intended.)!

My husband is feeling a little better and will be seeing his doctor soon. Lucy bounced back and is her usual perky, playful self, thank you to those of you who asked.

  1. Whenever I watch “House Hunters’ on HGTV I just love the episodes where they are searching for a houseboat. I could do that…and the small space would not bother me one bit…and I definitely would have a ‘garden’ as you photographed here.
