Barns, with and without doors, widened or changed for new equipment is often evident on farmsteads.
Here on a farmstead in the Palouse in Whitman County, an opening in a barn has been modified to adapt to equipment, at least once. Perhaps I could do that around here, buy a b.i.g couch, no problem, just cut out a piece of the wall next to the front door to bring it in… yup, that work’s for me! Wink, wink..
I worked most of the weekend, so I’ll be trying to catch up with everybody in the next couple days…
Feedburner… anybody else having trouble with Feedburner stats zeroing out for the last couple days?? Thankfully, my RSS feed is working just fine, I don’t like seeing ‘zero,’ under ‘Subscribers,’ though. Feedburner says: ‘Known Issue: Subscriber Counts and Stats, Friday, September 21, 2012 | 9:26 AM. Issue: We have been encountering difficulties with our stats production pipeline for data representing Sept 19th and 20th, 2012. We are currently working to resolve the issue.’ I’m still at zero this morning, they must still be working on it.

veeery interesting …
Well now, that’s one way to handle the problem…just cut the wall out! :)
i like your idea of a cut-out to accommodate new furniture. :) almost had to do that when we had our big-a$$ spa tub removed…
I like all the rooflines in this shot. And it almost looks like the profile of a big Frankenstein walked through the door. I can almost hear the farmer muttering to himself as he pulled out the sawzall and went to work.
There’s a solution to every problem, I guess!
Necessity being the mother ….well, you know the quote. Or “whatever works”!
They probably had to get that big tractor in there. Look at the size of those tires.
My feedburner is doing the same thing!! I’ve been worried I lost everyone, and Google is impossible to contact…At least I’m not the only one. I hope it comes back soon!! Are you in Iowa? I love the barn and it looks like the ones here! :)

love the tractor. neat farm. (:
Looks like they had a huge tractor. ^_^

That’s very cool…but I wonder how long it will be before the surrounding boards start to sag. Hope that doesn’t happen…love that red barn!
Nice shot! Somehow that cutout door doesn’t lend a sturdy look to the shed.
Or you could just add on to the room–build it around the sofa!
What ever it takes! Nice fresh paint and metal roofs.
lol..i guess if it works!
Don’t buy that couch yet. Winter is coming. LOL
Interesting barn. MB
The cutout looks to have affected the integrity of the structure a bit! ;)
So interesting–this barn looks so much like the older ones built in Arkansas! Of course, I love it!
Don’t know anything about Feedburner, but lovin the barns & the tail end of the tractor… love all that red, too.
Thanks for joining this week’s Barn Charmiversary =)
Cut out indeed! I wouldn’t have noticed – how interesting!
I guess you do what it takes, but looks like it’s made the barn a little shaky.
Ah… I love barns!! Nice shot, Madge!!
