Hooks Waiting to be Attached to a Long Line

Large hooks in a box, await being attached to a long line. At Fishermen’s Terminal in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, two young men stood quietly attaching these hooks to a long line. It’s been a while since I took this image and cannot remember how long the long line was, but remember that they would be fishing for tuna. I like the subtle colors and the repetitive shapes of the hooks.

Normally, I don’t acknowledge my ‘blog-iversary,’ or such, but was just a bit excited to see that my 100,000th visitor came by yesterday. But more enjoyable than that has been making friends with you, visiting your blogs to see bits of the world I’ll probably never have the opportunity to visit in person. You all have enriched my life, thank you!

  1. When I saw this photo in my Google Reader I was certainly puzzled….now it makes sense. I would have never figured it out if you hadn’t told us!! Congrats on all your visitors. I have been blogging since 2006 but have changed my blog/domain three times since then and just started a new, more simplified blog. The friends I have made over the years through blogging have been truly wonderful….even met quite a few in person which is thrilling!!
