An old steel truss bridge crosses the Puyallup River on Highway 99 in north Tacoma. Not feeling the inspiration today and it’s late, I haven’t posted yet today. After spending most of the day at a doctor appointment in Tacoma I just feel tired, so for lack of something more interesting to post I’ll share this shot of a view that hasn’t changed in sixty years. Crossing this old bridge looks just like it did when I was a very little girl riding in my parents 1948 Plymouth anticipating seeing our family’s dentist Dr. Winskill.

Love all the iron work and that color! And I can relate to your mood…I’m fighting my second cold in a month. Actually, I don’t believe the first cold ever left me. Hope your temps are a lot better then what we have in New Jersey!
Well you may not have felt inspired, but I like the shot regardless. Truss bridges make great photo subjects.
Splendid old structure, reminds me of the rather battered Meccano set I had when I was little.
lovely textures in the hard steel
:-))) I took a very similar photo a while ago, including a red car on the bridge. Yours in green tones, mine is in blue tones. Here is a link http://polonicahomeagain.blogspot.com/2011/01/saturday-postcard-from-poland-sobotnia_29.html .
Have a great weekend, Madge.
Built in a day when the steel structure was made in the USA.
What an amazing bridge and a wonderful photo- the best “wow shot” I have seen today Madge! Hope you are feeling better soon.

I hope you’re feeling better, Madge.
This is quite a nice shot for feeling “uninspired.”
