No More Pencils, No More Books, No More Teacher’s Dirty Looks! The day has arrived, the last day of the 2011/2012 school year. Our students start the school day at the normal time but get out after only three hours in class. We barely get the kids to school and then turn around and start picking up for the ride home.
I’m looking forward to this summer vacation, I’ve got projects around home to get accomplished (like pulling the paneling off the family room walls and painting) and I plan on visiting (with my camera gear) all of the observation decks in the office buildings in downtown Seattle and of course the Space Needle.
I didn’t take a shot of my clean school bus this year, so I put together an old school book, an old school slate, and the only pencil I could find was one of my automatic pencils, but I like the result anyway.
One last comment of the last day of school: Yippee!
that looks to be a very well used (loved) book
our schools let out last week and we have no kids but celebrate the fact those big buses are not on our roads holding up traffic and all the people who work at the schools are not on the road. our traffic drops drastically when school lets out. that is unless we get on one of the 2 roads that lead to the beaches. but we stay off those. happy summer
congrats, madge!
Yay for summer. Enjoy!
Great image, Madge! I know the feeling you’re experiencing right now about the last day of school….from experience! Enjoy your summer.
Lovin the old book and slate! There is nothing like the feeling you have on the last day of school! It is like that feeling when you are high up on the Ferris Wheel! Happy Summer Days! xx
Nice photo!
I’ve always wanted to see the Space Needle in Seattle. It’s on the bucket list with a bazillion other things.
Oh, observation deck photos sound interesting, bring them on!
hurrah! time for Madge to have a good summer!
Love your selection! I look forward to more city shots of Seattle.
Oh, boy! Summer! Sounds like you’ve got some great projects planned!
Nice blue tone.
