Wild Rose

The earthy scent rises from the warm ground and floats with the soft yet heady perfume of a wild rose, wafting into the air. Roses are such a passion for so many gardeners, their beauty and scent unsurpassed. Often taking a lot of care, the only ones I have are a couple old hardy climbers. But here, is a rose that grows wild along the highways and byways of the Pacific Northwest. I find it’s simplicity beautiful. Each year I pick a gallon or so of the buds, take them home and spread them out in a card board box, once dry they make lovely sachets for friends’ lingerie drawers as well as my own.

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

Beautiful! I have a shot similar to this coming up soon. . .ours are much lighter, too. The first ones I’ve breathed in this year have been true heaven – one of my favorite summer scents.
