A slightly open garden gate seems to beckon entry. This finely kept side yard of a home in the North Tacoma neighborhood above the small town of Ruston is beautiful as it is inviting. The North Tacoma district is where most of the historic homes are located in the city. Like the Weyhaeuser Mansion for instance at 4301 North Stevens Street, a 16,000 square foot red brick home laced with ivy and sweeping views of Commencement Bay. Here the streets are and lined with local historical residences of Tacoma pioneers and are a delight for the eyes of those who like looking at homes and gardens, like moi.

Oh yes, this almost demands a peek inside! Nice one Madge.
It does make me want to take a peek inside :)
I’ll bet there is something beautiful on the other side. :-)
I like the simplicity and elegance of your garden gate picture. It looks very well done with nice detail and color. The area sounds fabulous. I’ve never been in Tacoma with time to do that kind of looking. Fine post.
