Wild Bleeding Heart

Pink, delicate and pretty. Along the Physt River on the Olympic Peninsula, there is a wonderful woodland that one can enjoy by way of a winding road along the river for miles and miles. Here a little wild Bleeding Heart is nestled at the base of a Broad Leaf maple tree. They are among my favorite northwest woodland wild flowers, Trillium is another, speaking of which it should be about time for them to bloom, I’ll have to go for another woodland walk soon.

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

  1. Aloha Madge,

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. My apologies for taking a while to get back to you, just “emerging” from a bout with the flu…first for me in years…forgot what it felt like! Yikes! Feeling better now and your beautiful photography sure helps chase away the blues! My youngest son is stationed at Ft. Lewis, so your blog is going to be a little bridge to his part of the world for me. Thank you so much! I think we may have a local version of Bleeding Hearts in Hawaii…I need to check this out!
