Old Barn Loft

Barn Loft

Skeleton-like, a roof is silhouetted against the pale, cool, spring sky. Abandoned in the Palouse, what once was a beautiful and serviceable barn, now sits slowly decaying, but the remnants of former glory days are still evident. Barns abound in the Palouse; around every half dozen bends in the road is another farmstead. Some barns are more attractive than others but all serve their owners’ daily. I can imagine this loft full of sweet smelling hay, with a cat or two sleeping or mousing. Perhaps a child as well who finds solace and sanctuary there to ponder life… just like I did.

Monday, it’s back to work after Spring Break, loved having a week off. It is now the downhill slide until the end of the school year on June 14th, just forty-three more school-day get ups…

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge
