Glowing somewhat eerily in the early morning light, the Market Theater sign is unlit. Walking a back hall of the Pike Place Market, I looked out a window and down on Post Alley where the Market Theater is located. Below the light and to the right you can see a small portion of what Seattleites call ‘Bubble Gum Alley.’ Early mornings, in my opinion, are the best time to observe and photograph the market and its vendors.
This coming Friday, April 20, my husband and I are attending an event at the Market called, ‘Arcade Lights.’ It will feature, fourteen wineries, eleven micro breweries, four soda/coffee vendors, twenty-five sweet and savory cafes, restaurants and bakeries, lastly there will be live entertainment. We are going hungry and of course I’ll be taking my camera.
Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

great viewpoint; great light!
I agree with you – early morning is a great time to catch the market. Several times I’ve been there to watch the stalls get set up, early in the AM. Though it’s been a few years now.
Love the different colors in the brick.
Now following from the East Coast. What a beautiful shot! Have a great week.
I like this shot, Madge! The light really makes it.
You always manage a way to find the best view. I suppose on this one you were hanging off the roof suspended by a leather strap around one ankle while dangling your tripod from a neck harness!
Beautiful light and delicious colors in this facade has an interesting perspective.
I love the feel of this shot.
excellent photo Madge!
Love this photo…all your photos. So inspiring and creative. So grateful I stopped by. Hoping you have a blessed week.
That’s a great shot and your evening out sounds like it is going to be fun. I look forward to the photos!

Wonderful perspective and lighting. Looking forward to your pictures from Arcade Lights!
Great capture, Madge. You have a wonderful eye!
Looks as if it could have been taken in the 1930’s — such a nostalgic capture, Madge. Thanks for sharing at YSB. :)
I really like this photo. Back alleys just have their own unique look and you’ve captured it well.
this is like a glowing crayola box of color. a wow shot it is.
Love the vantage point of this shot of an infamous location. (that bubblegum wall kinda creeps me out though – pretty to look at as long as you don’t think about it too much.)
Love, love the perspective and colors in the photo. From the comments above, I see I’m not the only one!!!
I LOVE this photo! Awesome in so many ways!
Love everything about this image Madge, the soft colours are gorgeous!
