You can’t park in front of a fire hydrant, in a fire lane, overnight, any time, between 8am and 6pm, on Saturday, on Sunday, in a school bus zone, and 30 feet from a stop sign. But here’s one you’ve probably never seen before, ‘No Cars…’ no parking in a tulip field! The Skagit Valley in Skagit County in north western Washington state is a tulip growing region that draws tourists and locals alike to view and photograph the beauty of the fields which look like carpets of color. Each time I drive up to visit during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival (April 1 to 30th this year), I am always excited to arrive and get to shooting. It is one place where I chuckle to see so many photographers with long lenses and tripods… and of course I’m one of them! If you go, feast your eyes upon to fields, but remember to tip-toe through the tulips, don’t drive or park!
Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge
Those tulips are phenomenal!
I wonder how many bouquets are in this field.
They could at least spring for a professional sign! Nothing like a large field of tulips, they are beautiful!
ha that’s funny….beautiful field of tulips!
Wow, those are just amazing. Gorgeous shot too Madge. Love the sign – sometimes you just have to go huhhhhh?????
And how glorious to tip toe through these tulips. Oh that color! Yup ~ it looks like spring over here. :)
Have a happy Easter weekend Madge!

wow, that’s pretty…
What a fabulous shot! The sign is a great find! :-)
That is a gorgeous field.
A funny sign to see in that field! I assume they must have had cars where they didn’t want them to have created such a sign.
I’d like to see these fields in person some time. Nice post.
That is sort of stating the obvious isn’t it. And I’d love to be down there with my tripod and lenses!
lol. Happy easter to you. :)
What striking colors!
A wonderful field of colour …. Definitely no cars allowed there … It would spoil our view!
Wowzers, a photographer’s paradise! And tulips are my favs!
I love all of that rich color.
Wowsers! Is that this year, Madge? Our local tulip site in Woodburn has hardly any blooming due to the temps and the rain.
No, actually this is year before last, but according to the local news the bloom is on… I’m heading to the Palouse tonight and will be gone one week then the weekend of the 21st I’ll be driving to the Skagit for a photo trip to get this year’s bloom…
I really love tulips! But I’ve never seen so many in the same place, how gorgeous! :D
I’m wondering what kind of situation presented itself to warrant that sign… someone must have parked in it, can you imagine! Some people really don’t think before they act!!! =0
Beautiful beautiful beautiful flowers!!! =)
Have fun shooting!!! Beautiful image.
