‘No Cars’…No Kidding!

'No Cars' Among the Tulips on Calhoun Road

You can’t park in front of a fire hydrant, in a fire lane, overnight, any time, between 8am and 6pm, on Saturday, on Sunday, in a school bus zone, and 30 feet from a stop sign. But here’s one you’ve probably never seen before, ‘No Cars…’ no parking in a tulip field! The Skagit Valley in Skagit County in north western Washington state is a tulip growing region that draws tourists and locals alike to view and photograph the beauty of the fields which look like carpets of color. Each time I drive up to visit during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival (April 1 to 30th this year), I am always excited to arrive and get to shooting. It is one place where I chuckle to see so many photographers with long lenses and tripods… and of course I’m one of them! If you go, feast your eyes upon to fields, but remember to tip-toe through the tulips, don’t drive or park!

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

A funny sign to see in that field! I assume they must have had cars where they didn’t want them to have created such a sign.
I’d like to see these fields in person some time. Nice post.

    1. No, actually this is year before last, but according to the local news the bloom is on… I’m heading to the Palouse tonight and will be gone one week then the weekend of the 21st I’ll be driving to the Skagit for a photo trip to get this year’s bloom…

  2. I’m wondering what kind of situation presented itself to warrant that sign… someone must have parked in it, can you imagine! Some people really don’t think before they act!!! =0

    Beautiful beautiful beautiful flowers!!! =)
