Warm red brick glows in the late afternoon light. The Pioneer Square district of Seattle boarders the southern edge of modern downtown and was itself the central business district of the city a hundred twenty years ago. Here a couple apartments on the back side of a red brick building facing Western Avenue have small iron balconies with just enough room for a flower pot or two.
Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge
Beautiful old building.
it’s a pretty red brick – at least in the light you caught :-)
The light on this building is so wonderfully warm. Isn’t it interesting how the residents here are so starved for plant life that they squeeze potted trees on the itsy-bitsy-est little fire escapes and landings?
I love these types of shots. Glad you got all that tax stuff out of the way. Always a pain in the butt.
The warm, red brick is very charming.
I love the fact this structure is so well-maintained and being used, still today. Lovely shot, Madge.
Madge, there’s nothing quite like the early morning or late afternoon sun for adding warmth to a photo. Well done!
That is incredible. What is it about red brick and black iron that makes my knees go weak? Love the shot Madge. B
this is beautiful, I love the way the light brings out the contrast of brick and iron. i have to say there is no way i would step out on one of those balcony’s. but they are pretty.
Madge, I’m going to have to take lessons from you on composure! You always seem to find the best shots! Well done..
Oh and tax time, yeck! Yuk! Blah!
This is one of my favorite photos, ever. It brings to mind one of my favorite movies, ever, Hitchcock’s “Rear Window.” Thanks!
Love those reddish tones!
Very nice! The brick has such warm tones.
