Flower Vendor – Weekly Top Shot #23

Pike Place Market - Flower Vendor

Spring splendor on display and for sale. A local Seattle flower vendor preps his tulips, daffodils and cherry branches for customers to buy and enjoy at home. Of the many offerings at Pike Place Market, flowers are a big part of what is sold these days. These merchants occupy the daily or temporary stalls that at one time were filled by local farmers selling produce.

There are still a few local farmers who sell produce at the market, but not nearly as many as 25 or 30 years ago when the valleys surrounding Seattle were still rural and filled with truck farms and not warehouses like today. You can still buy just about any type of produce you need or want at the market, you just buy from permanent vendors who buy from suppliers.

Thanks for joining me today, for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

  1. So very beautiful and interesting also. Grabbed my eye on Google as well.
So glad you stopped . Thanks for keeping on trying even with blogger not working. I was redoing my blog when it all crashed on me leaving me with some missing gadgets as well.
Have a wonderful night and Sunday.

  2. It’s so lovely when you pass by a field of flowers, and such a shame when they go away in favor of building. But I suppose the building fuels the economy more than the flowers. Thankfully there are still vendors who bring them to town for you to enjoy.
