Plowing the Palouse

Later winter and early Spring finds farmers and ranchers ramping up for the coming season.

I am so excited that I will again get to spend Spring Break from school in the Palouse. It has been two years since my last week long trip to southeastern Washington state. The undulating and folding hills grow some of the best wheat in the United States and the beauty of the region is a photographers’ paradise. I love spending time there, the days that I spend refresh me inside in heart, mind and spirit. Driving several hundred miles a day I visit many small communities and rural roads. Over the course of a week I’ll take about 2,000 images. Each filling my mind with beauty that I carry and reflect upon at a moments notice. Here a wheat farmer plows his piece of the Palouse…

Thanks for joining me today for the view that is right here! ~ Madge

  2. Wonderful capture of farm life. You have a knack for being in the right location to get an honest and yet artistic view of every day activities. Enjoy your Spring Break and I look forward to seeing your pictures.

  3. That sounds like our trips to The Palouse – I took over 1600 photos during our last trip. It is an amazing and spectacular area – so many different things to see and enjoy. I love this shot of the tractor on the hillsides – some of them seem so steep that it makes you wonder if the tractor will stay upright.
