With the irritation of my alarm clock resonating in my ears and reverberating in my mind, I awaken to another Monday and another work week. After spending a good part of last week ill and off work, I’m actually grateful that I’m well enough to head back to my usual routine. There is something to be said for spontaneity, but routine has an anchoring influence in my life. Like making a pot of coffee in my Melitta pour through pot, then pouring a big, steaming cup full. Adding just the right amount of half n’ half, I settle into the couch, power up my laptop to post my daily thoughts and image to my cyber friends (you all). Then comes a shower, dressing, make-up and hair, cell phone in pocket, jacket, sling backpack on shoulder, grab keys and head out the door by 05:50. This little ground squirrel is face-forward looking into the day, bright-eyed and bushy tailed… heads up, it’s Monday.

Well, I’m not quite as bright-eyed or bushy-tailed as you or the squirrel. I hate Daylight Saving Time – still pitch dark at 7 a.m.!

As for Monday’s its nothing I really think about. I am usually up by 5:30 every morning any. Goes back to 20 years in the military.
I admire all you get done before heading out for the day! I need to get my act together but, for some reason, this remains on my list of things I ought to do. Maybe, little by little, I will set the alarm earlier. Now if I could only stop hitting that snooze! Great squirrel…incredibly sharp!
