Frozen ice cream treats ordered through a walk up window will satisfy your desire for a cool, sweet indulgence. Since the 1950s Scott’s Dairy Freeze has been a welcome place for locals and tourists alike in the small town of North Bend, nestled in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, east of Seattle. Prior to 1978 traffic flowing east/west on Interstate 90 went through the heart of the town, stopping in sync to the last remaining traffic light on the 3,101 mile route from Seattle to Boston. Many who were stuck in miles long backups trying to return to Seattle after a weekend in the mountains or points east thereof, treats from this small drive-in were welcome. Their burgers, onion rings and fries are classic and good. But their ice cream creations are the ‘pièce de résistance!’ Malts, shakes, cones and floats… oh my! They even have ‘Green River’ soda on tap, I love Green River floats.. ever had one?

Mmmmm! We don’t go out to eat very often, but a couple of times a year we do treat ourselves to cones from a local creamery. Divine!
This reminds me of the old Tastee Freeze in our little town. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting! Happy (Sunset) Sunday!
the colors are magnificent and i could really eat a cone that big even now this early
I haven’t had a Green River float in AGES!
Oh how perfect that would be for our 40C heatwave in Perth, cool image Madge, although tomorrow I will have to have an ice cream!!
Yum, bright cheery colors with thoughts of ice cream :^)
Soft serve is my fav! Nice neon.
Yes, highway bypasses mean people miss many a good thing!
Great vintagery.
wonderful, just wonderful!!
You can’t but love the colors and lighting of neon lights. Great capture, Madge but now I am thinking about a hot fudge sundae.
Very good picture, artistic and technically is wonderful with this delicious light.
Nice shot! I really do like those old neon signs.
Looks like one of the those places with the best ice cream. Love the sign.
Fine photo. Sounds like a fine place to enjoy!

Another great photo! Thanks for following! I will be following you as well. Love your artistic eye! :-) I don’t know if you are in Washington or Oregon, but my sister-in-law is in Brookings, OR. We hope to get up there this summer for a visit! I know there will be lots of great photo ops on the trip!
Yummy — my favorite treat is ice cream.
