Silhouetted against the pale late winter sunset, a male Red Wing Blackbird sings. Not far from my sister’s place south of Olympia WA, is a wetland in what once was the pioneer logging community of Bordeaux. Leaving her place early one evening I swung by the wetland on my way to the freeway and caught this Red Wing Blackbird singing with joyous abandon.
