On Seattle’s Harbor Island, two cement pillars protecting a fire hydrant are busted.
Truckers hauling containers typically park along 13th Avenue South, nose-to-tail, nose-to-tail, nose-to-nose or tail-to-tail. Squeezing a rig and trailer into that open spot on the shoulder of the road can be a bit challenging. Looks like whoever has been backing in next to this fire hydrant was a bit short on space or visibility wasn’t optimum. Need a spotter??
Love this one Madge. Great colors, and somehow the pillars look like characters of a silent movie.
The pillars did what they were supposed to do.
love it
a nice shot. :)
That’s one very lucky fire hydrant! :)
Good observation! My dog would love this place! (male dog, lol). Great colors!
Andy, above, got it right, the pillars did their job!
Engineers call these things “bollards” and it looks like they must have taken some real hits to have gone over as they did. Those things are usually built to withstand plenty of abuse! Ouch!
Cool shot. Almost looks like you caught them in motion as they were falling to the ground.
That’s what happens when they don’t paint them red : )

Nice shot. Have a nice day!
It looks like the poles did what they were supposed to do, protect the hydrant.
What a perfectly composed photo. The entire thing looks like an art installation, I keep thinking cigarette butts instead of traffic bollards.
