a Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad switchman walks back
across the draw bridge over the Duwamish River to raise the bridge until needed again next time.
His florescent orange safety gear
really pops in the dreary scene.

Great “tough” image. Now that’s a job which justifies the safety jacket. A while ago I saw a railway worker wearing such a jacket, it looked faintly ridiculous as he was painting inside the gents toilet in Royston station at the time. You can’t be too careful!
Nice. I like the curve in that track. Having lived beside one when I was growing up and hearing the steam engines whistle, the post brings back a lot of good memories.
