Quiet, rusting… At an abandoned lumber mill in Forks WA, this counter balance for a small crane sits still. Unused, this weight and all of the metal mill parts are coated with thick, flaking rust, slowly being eaten away. Caught at the end of a sunny day, the low light gives an extra richness to the scene.
I’m feeling a bit rusty myself… ever wake up and feel like that? I do, sometimes my joints seem to creak. Today is one of those days, with a slow moving start, the rain and cold aren’t my friend on some days. No worries, a couple cups of coffee, an ibuprofen and a small bowl of oatmeal I’ll be good to go!
Madge, love the rusty colors.
super looking rust, the lighting is just perfect on it! hope you are feeling a bit better!
I feel rusty a lot…like seeing the rusty pic
Forks really??? Like in Twilight? That is so funny. I like that picture and I feel like it too. :)
Wow you do get around to far locations in WA. Forks is what, a 4-5 hour drive? Even if you take the ferry to the Olympic Peninsula?
I really like these “industrial” type shots. And I’m rusty myself every morning, LOL, and Tylenol Arthritis Formula is part of my regular breakfast.
The rainfall in Forks is enough to rust the brightest penny. Other creaks and such. . .oh, let’s just not go there. . .!
I am having to many mornings feeling like that…lol. Great Shot Madge.
I keep thinking of all that weight hanging there for all this time. I think someone should let it RELAX! An you take it easy today too. Nobody needs to be 100% everyday : )
