‘At Crowley, safety is our number one core value.’ According to the Crowley Maritime corporate website, meetings and work shifts all begin with a ‘Safety Moment.’ A brief tip or story to emphasize and illustrate how to improve the safety performance of employees. Every employee has a voice in safety concerns, the company says ‘Safety is Not Silent.’
Early last Saturday, bundled up against the cold I found myself down on Harbor Island at the Crowley Maritime facility. I am always quite drawn visually to these bright fluorescent orange life rings around the waterfront, on boats, ferries and docks. The pop of color grabs the center of attention where ever they are found, and this scene is no different. A rather ho-hum scene jumps with interest the moment the life ring comes into view.

That is definitely orange isn’t it? I am wondering how it is you just find yourself at these places. You have so many wonderful photo ops don’t you? I didn’t blog enough this week to have a good post. I will be back next week though – if anything outstanding happens : )
