Oversized, Supersized, Immense…
Selah, WA is a small community in the Yakima Valley in central eastern Washington state. Out for a weekend drive away from Seattle, we came across this very large barn. I am amazed sometimes at the immensity of some barns. Some of these old wooden barns really are huge, and what good construction methods were used to make them so and keep them standing for so many years.

This is actually just outside of Moxee, I drive by it everyday. I’ve shot it several times! Nice capture. Moxee is known for its hops, an integral ingredient in beer!
This is a beautiful structure. I would love to have seen this one back in the day.

I am always amazed at how some of the old structures are built so square and true. This one has really been special in its day, and still is.

The sizes amaze me as well! I’ve never been inside a barn THAT big, I wonder if my parents know someone around here w/ a barn that big that I might be able to get inside? LoL!

Love the look of the wood on this. A very nice barn! I’m posting one tomorrow at the Sequim Daily Photo that’s quite large. I understand that it was the site of some barn dances years ago that drew people from near and far, an overlooked secondary use for these huge and wonderful buildings.
This is a beauty. I wonder if Paul Patnode (name on the side) or his relatives knows how popular it is, photographically.
The different roof styles may indicate it had been added onto? Or maybe not. The colour of the old wood is very nice, too.
