In rural Latah County, just a few miles north of Potlatch, ID on US Highway 95, you come to a crossroad, where Freeze Road runs east and west. In what once was the pioneer community of Freeze, all that remains of those days is a small one room school house sitting in the yard of a farmstead and just beyond on a small ridge is Freeze Church and cemetery.
Returning to the main highway on the left sitting in the midst of fallow canola fields are these three red barns, creating drama against the dark clouds of a passing spring storm.

Reminds me of the three bears: Papa, Mama, Baby! Love that growling sky too!
The skies in the Palouse in the spring are often filled with drama!
Oh, to live with those barns. Great photo. Thanks for all your great ones.
Beautiful photo! What a wonderful find…good things come in 3, right? :)
That’s what they say… Who are ‘they’ anyway… lol!
be still my heart! love this!
I love this photo!! I would be happy to find one red barn around here, but three??? Wow!
I love a good barn photo. :)
That’s the first thing I thought of too: the three little bears. What a fabulous find and setting!
Great shot Madge!
The composure is just perfect along with the colours and the sky in the background.
gorgeous, madge!
Awesome picture, Madge! Three red barns is very unique and the sky is awe-inspiring too!
What a pretty shot! I love the white trim and the patchwork roof on the little barn. I like the tiny building in front of the middle barn. A pump house? I would love to live there. But maybe the town’s name would discourage me….Freeze? Must be cold in the winter!
I’ve often thought that it might have been weather related but found out at when I attended Easter service at Freeze Church that a pioneer by the name of John Freeze was a founder of the town…
Wow-I love all 3 barns : )
Wonderful scene.
Regards and best wishes

I couldn’t help but smile when I saw this. A wonderful shot…great red color, great moody sky….and 3 for the price of 1! Love it!
It’s Poppa, Momma, and baby barn.
This is a “made me smile” scene; how fun.
Great photo, dramatic.
Wow it’s not often I’m sure that you find a triple whammy like this Madge, like Randy says Pa, Ma and Bub! Excellent image.
WoW! Madge, you’ve outdone yourself w/ this shot! It’s absolutely & undeniably GORGEOUS & oh so very dramatic! I love it… Love the storm in the background, too!
Thank you very very much for linking up this beauty =)
Love this shot, how interesting. Looks like someone took a nice weekend drive. Love the Longhouse too.
It’s amazing how the barns just pop with the rain in the background!
Someone placed them perfectly for photo ops. :))

Oh, my word! That is simply gorgeous, Madge! Wow! The red barns and the clouds are striking! Fantastic work! I’d be extremely proud of that shot.
Hello Madge…what a wonderful photo! I love how the red just pops and yet it’s a faded red. The clouds are wonderful too! Thanks for stopping by the other day. I hope your day is a good one.
