Low afternoon light shines on the Sheepshead Mountains near Burns, Oregon.
The Wild Horse Valley is one of the most rural, rugged, and prettiest places
I’ve ever visited and photographed.
: : :
The valley parallels Steens Mountain,
a fifty mile long fault-block mountain formation that is the star of this high desert area.

I’ve only visited here once,
but it in on my short list of places to return to
and spend more than one day
exploring.
