Botanical Amber - Autumn Chestnut Tree Leaves

Autumn Color Chestnut Leaves… Graceful… Translucent… Dramatic…

Autumn is waning fast now in Seattle. Cold rain is called for all week with a chance of snow dusting the higher hills. The snow level will be dipping to around 500 feet by Friday.

I must admit I’m a bit saddened this year at the changing of the seasons.  Normally, I look forward to each season and its changes and blessings.  This year, not only will I miss the leaves and color, but the sinking temperatures have caused a corresponding rise in my aches and pains; shoulders, knees, fingers and well… you get the idea.  The hot pad has become my ‘friend’ again at night comforting my aching joints just so I can get to sleep. I got caught in a drenching cold rain Saturday afternoon while walking Lucy (our Welsh Corgi mix).  I was dry under my raincoat, but the rain dripped off the hem of my coat and soaked by jeans. Lucy was one soaked puppy too, lucky I had a towel in the car to wipe her off.  But at least we got in a walk!

The wind has kicked up the last couple days and has knocked down most of the colorful leaves that were still holding on for the last hurrah of fall. How is fall waning in your neck of the wood?
