Des Moines, WA Beach Walk… Drip… Drop… Raining…
Seattle is famous for its rainy weather. Here is a classic example of Seattleites doing what we do a lot, which is whatever you want to do ‘just do it in the rain!’ On the beach in Des Moines, at low tide on Puget Sound, a young family has finished feeding a flock of seagulls a loaf of bread and then takes a chilly stroll on the beach before returning to the warmth of their car. Real Seattleites don’t use umbrellas, they simply dig out the gortex, layer their clothes and then ‘just do it!’

‘WEEKLY TOP SHOT’ – Meme
I have created a new meme (‘photo sharing party’ or ‘linky group’ called’) Weekly Top SHOT,’ which will open every Saturday morning at 12:01 Pacific Standard Time and close the following Friday evening at 23:59. ‘Weekly Top SHOT,’ is all inclusive, meaning this is not a themed party or linky group. You are welcome to share any kind of photo – rural life, urban life, still life, landscapes, portraits, your choice (family friendly)! You may post one photo, a photo collage, or several photos contained in a single post. So, let me see your top shot!
Link to ‘Weekly Top SHOT,’ this way:

I admire people who just go on about life despite the weather. I don’t mind the rain, but days on end with dreary skies are more than I can take if I am going to be happy and productive. I’m admittedly a fair weather gal.
I’ve lived here all my life… the weather rarely stops me from doing what I want to… but there is the odd occasion when I stay in… sunshine and 60 degrees is my favorite weather… :-)
Yes, if you want to live on the west coast, get used to living with the rain! Though getting thoroughly drenched, like I got yesterday, out on my bike in a flash rain-and-hail sorm, isn’t very nice. :D
It hailed here too late yesterday afternoon, glad I wasn’t out in that like you were. Although, I took Lucy (the dog) out for a walk today and even with a rain coat, I still was quite wet, jeans and shoes by the time we were done! Ah, well, they dry out! ;-)
I really prefer the coast in winter, though not necessarily when it’s raining. We have to have the same philosophy – if it’s worth doing it’s worth doing in the rain!
Yes, John, I think we in the Pacific NW of the US and Canada have much the same maritime wet weather you have…
Umbrellas are a sign of weakness. lol
Yes, JoJo, indeed they are!! Lol… besides even if you wanted to, how can you balance one and do something else at the same time… I’ve watched people, it doesn’t work too well… :-)
Now that’s the way to grow where you’re planted. Love it.
Truth be known most people probably adapt to their climate and adopt a ‘just do it!’ attitude… otherwise we’d all be sitting in the house blogging… wink, wink! Just kidding… I love my blog friends!! :-)
Beautiful walk in the rain!
I loved that they all had red coats…
A PNW motto: “Don’t wait for the storm to pass — learn to dance in the rain!” We just came back from a week as keepers at New Dungeness Lighthouse. Yesterday in the pouring rain, as gale winds began to pick up, we welcomed a hiker from Vancouver, BC who’d walked 5 miles out the beach to visit the lighthouse! He wore foul weather gear, but it was a day that would test even the hardiest of souls. Hours later the winds gusted up to 50 knots.
Wow, you were a light keeper for a week… I’d love to do that!!! So fortunate that hiker was able to get out of the storm…
Their coats really are a pop of color.
I agree, grey beach, grey water and a pop of red!
