All the better to see you with my dear… Opening its doors in 1985, the cafe was originally located on Western Avenue near the north end of the Pike Place Market. The building housing the cafe was slated for demolition in 1997, making way for the future construction of Harbor Properties with businesses on street level and condos above. The Cyclops then searched for a new location and re-opened in 1998, one block east uphill to First Avenue. Still in Belltown, but located now on the corner of First and Wall Street, it offers mostly classic cafe food, ie: burgers, salads, soups and has a lounge with a full service bar. Frequented by musicians, artists, actors and locals alike enjoy the quirky yet comfortable atmosphere.
I had no idea the world is so full of cool signs until I found your blog. i need to drive around here and see if we have them and i just do not see them. maybe it is because you are in CA.
We do have interesting signs here… but in Washington, I live in Seattle! Lol! :-)
That is strange neon! It must certainlt stand out at night.
I agree… I caught it in such a way that it looks like a pair of eyes with glasses on, don’t you think?
Why did my thoughts fly all the way to boats I have seen so many places around the Greek islands?
Nice BLUE images.
I like it!:)
I’m not sure, Gunn… lol!
What a neat place!
Thanks, Kim!
Very cool! I love neon signs. :)
I do too, Nancy… we have a lot to choose from around Seattle… ;-)
Cool sign…
I thought so too, Barb…
Excellent sign.
Quite odd but in a fun way…
The eye is attention getting. It has the feeling of a comfortable place for the locals.
The ‘eyes’ have it… it is a relaxing place…
Love the unique sign! Great use of the reflection, too.
