Out to Pasture

Busted…Abandoned…Forlorn… Farm trucks are used forever, well perhaps not quite forever, but certainly for a very long time. Then when they’re usefulness IS over, they are parked, in a field, by the barn, beside the road, to rest forever, well perhaps not quite forever, but certainly for a very long time. Outside the small eastern Washington town of Roslyn, on the lower slopes of the Cascade Mountains begins ranching country. Here a farm or ranch truck has been put out to pasture, resting in a field of weeds, no longer used and useful. The multiple colors on the hood, fenders and bumper was pleasant to the eye, my eye anyway!

  1. It looks almost patriotic. My mom just gave my dad’s old truck (I think it was a 1982 GMC) to my cousin who likes to restore old vehicles. It had been in the barn for about six years and we were very surprised when it started without a jump!
