Ride the Ducks! Looking for a fun way to visit the sights of Seattle? One relaxing way to get around without trying to follow a GPS and look for parking is to tour Seattle by land and water on a WWII amphibious landing craft, called ‘Ride the Ducks.’ By land you’ll be entertained by your ‘duck’ driver while you see such sights as CenturyLink Field, Safeco Field, the Seattle Waterfront, Downtown Business District, Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market. Then by water, your ‘duck’ will take you into Lake Union to see the Seattle skyline, the Space Needle, Gas Works Park and the houseboat featured in the movie, ‘Sleepless in Seattle.’ Rates are about $28 for adults, $19 for kids 12 and under and $1 for kids 2 and under. Here I’ve caught two ‘ducks’ coming ashore at north Lake Union. Every time I’ve watched folks on these tours they are always smiling, pointing and having a good time. I’m not a tourist, but I may have to take a ride one of these days!
great capture!
Thanks, Tanya!
Novel idea, these amphibians, right down to the vanity plate!
The vanity plates are probably written off as a business expense!
Iowa used one of these duck boats to get around the casinos when the floods were raging this summer. They are cute!
Seems that alot of places could’ve used them!
I could use one of these getting around Charleston during our heavy rains and flooding. What a fantastic image.
Yeah.. bet you could’ve! Wow..what torrential rains you’ve had lately! :-(
