As the former Amazon Global Headquarters, this beautiful facility on the northern tip of Beacon Hill, overlooking downtown Seattle and SODO was originally Pacific Medical Center. Amazon moved into the facility in 1999 and as of August 2011, they have moved to their new facilities in the South Lake Union neighborhood. The city is considering locating the Youth Detention Center to this facility. Built in 1933 as a U.S. Marine Hospital, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. This beautiful imposing orange brick structure almost glows in the low light of an early summer morning.
I love this Landmark in Seattle
Nice capture!
Thanks, Dennis…!
Gorgeous shot Madge!!
That is a massive building. Knowing that it is empty now kind of gives it an eerie feeling.
Thats a real nice picture!
Beautiful shot of a beautiful building. It appears to be on prime real estate too. I hope they continue to use if for some purpose.
