Fluorescent Orange Crab Pot Buoy

The hot summer sun, illuminates fluorescent orange crab pot buoys
wrapped in netting. There is something appealing, something eye catching, something attractive about these utilitarian pot buoys. I find myself drawn to them again and again, sometimes they are squeezed between boats at berth, sometimes just dangling over the side, sometimes cast aside on deck, sometimes stored inside a crab pot waiting for the next king crab season. Here I’ve captured a couple buoys again at Fishermens’ Terminal in the Ballard neighborhood of Ballard, these are not on a Deadliest Catch boat, but a crab boat nonetheless.

    • Nonnie: no, it wasn’t TMI! thanks for informing me about Queen Anne’s Lace other moniker. I’d be tickled if someone chose my name for an animal.
    • Evelyn Spikes: Strange yellow…but I agree that it’s pretty! Albino, maybe? 😉

    • Robyn: Neat find, Madge. They are pretty. “Spurge” is a bad thing around hear. Leafy spurge is a very noxious weed.
    • Evelyn Spikes: Hi again, Madge! I seem to drop in on an irregular basis these days. The spurge is beautiful….I think it would be a delightful groundcover for a little area.

    • Debi: It’s beautiful. Some sort of worm casing, I would think. Lovely!
    • Nonnie: It’s lovely whatever it is!
