Ontario-Motel - Clean Up After Three Alarm Fire

A fire was doused at Ontario Motel early this morning at about 07:00.
The fire broke out in the upper story of what once was a hotel and now is a residence motel at 4003 Airport Way South between Georgetown and SODO in south Seattle. Unfortunately, two people were injured, one was treated for smoke inhalation and another for a condition not related to the fire. The Red Cross is assisting about 20 people who are now displaced by the fire. I stumbled upon this situation, as I was fighting my way through rush hour traffic heading south through SODO towards Boeing Field (and home beyond). I had intended to upload some shots of the Blue Angels (F/A-18 Hornets) fighter jets at Boeing Field where they are staged and practicing for their performance at the Seafair Hydroplane races this weekend.

I skirted around the fire and took a couple shots from the opposite side of the fire cleanup and caught this Captain walking back to his fire engine and crew who were already putting their gear away (click on the photo to view enlarged).

    1. I’d love to make a living (or even a side-line income) from my photography… but my job as a school bus driver is going to be part of my retirement income! Thank you for the compliment Bruce… coming from someone as skilled as you, it means a lot! :-)
