Elliott Bay glows in the pastels of early morning at 05:51 behind these three iconic Seattle’s Pike Place Market neon signs. Some places and scenes become icons and speak of the place they represent, here are three. The glowing red coffee cup of Seattle’s Best Coffee, at one time a brand unto itself, they were bought out by Starbucks in 2003 and are now a subsidiary of the mega coffee company. The others are the Public Market and City Fish Company signs atop the roof of the market at the west end of Pine Street where it intersects Pike Place (the old brick surfaced street running through the market). Pine Street inclines steeply downhill towards Elliott Bay after it crosses First Avenue going west. If you stand half way between First Avenue and Pike Place, you are at about eye level with these three signs and can capture this view. Oh, and do stop in to Seattle’s Best for your morning cuppa, have you had yours today?
Nice capture Madge…I love the Seattle area and was out there last September. I have seen that same spot but never that early in the morning…lol. Hope your having a great July 4th weekend.
Thanks Bruce… it’s early, but you can always get a cup of coffee! :-) Hope your celebration is enjoyable too!
Ah yes, City Fish Market – everybody should see them them play “catch” with a salmon at least once!!
We had some animal activists that tried really diligently to shut down the ‘flying salmon’ routine about a year ago… thankfully they didn’t prevail… so many people (myself included) enjoy that!
Beautiful perspective.
Thanks Kostas, I’m glad you enjoyed the view!
What a view. I have always want to visit Seattle. Maybe one day.
I hope you visit one of these days… Seattle is a beautiful place, a lot to see and do here!
Hey girl! You were up EARLY! That’s just beautiful. I love the blue tone of the morning light you’ve captured. It makes me want to warm up with a cuppa. Lifting my mug your way, and hope you are having a fantastic day!

Thanks Kim, yes.. I was up early (my favorite part of the day)! I enjoy getting out on the streets before there are too many people and cars whizzing by! Clink.. cheers, hope your morning cuppa was as good as the second one I just finished! Lol!
Oh, I would dearly love to visit Seattle…and not just the airport! That’s as far as I’ve made it…the airport…and would adore visiting the city itself. One day…
I hope you do… but then I’d love to come visit your neck of the woods! :-)
Nice Capture of a very famous location
Thanks… yes it is a famous view… just wish Seattle’s Best Coffee would have been open this early for a cuppa!
