Yippee! School IS out for summer! Today was the last day of the school year for my school district, Highline in the Seattle area. Here, my bus, bus #103 sits sparkling at Tyee High School in the bus zone, waiting for my load of students (the last school day is also ‘clean vehicle inspection day’ upon returning to the bus compound). The last day of school is about a three and a half hour day for the students. At the end of this short day, we pick up and individually transport each level of students (high school, middle school and then two elementary schools, or four schools in the morning and again in the afternoon). We honk like crazy as we pull out of the school zone while the staff are waving to the students on board – wishing them well, a fun and safe summer and a successful next year. 2011/2012 school year begins this year on September 1, 2011. Yippee! Oh… I said that already! :-)
Yippee! My oldest daughter will start kindergarten in the fall. I think the summer is going to go by way too fast!
Lucky students! Ours still have a few weeks to go until the schools break up in mid July. Love those yellow buses!
Oh, boy, I remember how excited I used to be when summer vacation started when I was a kid! Enjoy your break! :D
I always loved summer break as a child. Now I’m waiting for the temp. to get nice and warm so it feels like summer! Enjoy yours.
Mom works in the schools and she’s enjoying that yippee feeling too.
It’s hard to believe it’s summer with the kind of weather we’ve been having, it messes with my mind and feels like early spring.
