Underneath the north end of the Aurora Bridge in Seattle, lies an unusual piece of art, the Fremont Troll. The large Troll has a hub cap for his left eye and is clutching a real Volkswagen Beetle (with California plates) as though he has taken it from the road. Four Seattle artists were involved in the creation of the Troll, Ross Whitehead, Donna Walter, Will Martin and Steve Badanes. The Troll is constructed of rebar, wire and cement and is eighteen feet tall and weighs about 13,000 pounds. Almost any visit to the artwork will find a family with children clambering around atop him. If you want to visit the Troll the address is, North 36th Street at Troll Avenue North.
